Submission Guidelines
- Submit your artwork to DreamTheaterXtreme@hotmail.com.
- Take your time with your design
Let it breathe. Quality is more important than quantity.
- The Dream Theater text logo MUST be done correctly
Get the latest/final version of the font here: dtlogofontfont.zip.
It's actually IMPOSSIBLE to screw up now, press ANY key and it just gives you the correct 'Dream Theater' text logo, EXCEPT that the 'y' key gives you the Majesty logo.
Thanks to BlobVanDam for creating this font for everyone to use.
- Dimension/size: 1920x1080
Pretty much every new monitor out there is widescreen these days. The ratio is 16:9 and will properly scale to any widescreen monitor. Older 4:3 ration monitors will show it either letterboxed or squished but that's up to the end-user to define.
- Think of a creative DT-related name for your wallpaper
Instead of just 'DT Number One' or 'John Petrucci' or whatever use your imagination and call it something that reflects the personality or theme of your creation.
- Dream Theater (and related) only
Keep your designs focused on Dream Theater and any current/previously related members/projects (ie. OSI, Dominici, Portnoy, LTE, G3, etc).
- Do not take a simple photo of Dream Theater, slap the logo on along with your name, and submit it as a creation... you didn't create anything. These submissions will not be accepted.
- I am no longer providing multiple resolutions. Computers automatically resize and stretch wallpaper images now.
- Submit your artwork in .jpg format and NOT .gif or .png format. Millions of colours are better than just 256 and even though a .gif might look fine if you only used a few shades the file size is HUGE when the same file is a high-quality (10) .jpg.
- In order to have your own page on the site you need to send in at least 6 creations or at guarantee me that you'll have at least 6 soon. But, don't stop at 6, keep going!
- You should include a watermark/copyright line/graphic/etc on your wallpapers and posters so I know who to give credit to and, more importantly, anyone who uses it will know who made it. Bottom right/left corners are generally the best places for this and make sure they are visible but don't distract from the rest of the artwork.
